It's Back To School For NYSBA Stations...

I'm not sure what Emmis is getting out of this besides good will but you have to applaud them for agreeing to school sales people at more than 300 New York State Broadcasters Association stations. The NYSBA stations will receive Emmis Interactive sales training. NYSBA SVP Richard Novik is happy about the deal: "The training, entitled 'The Path to Building a Successful Local Interactive Business' is a practical approach that will ensure attendees return to their stations with tangible ways to build their business." Since most radio sales people are hired for their aggressiveness rather than any previous radio experience, this is an agreement that needs to catch on...

Emmis Interactive will offer a series of training sessions for NYSBA members, and EI staffers will also speak at the NYSBA Executive Conference in June, and at its Digital Leadership Conference in September. Emmis Interactive co-President Deborah Esayian is inspired by NYSBA leadership and considers it a privilege to partner with them and educate their stations all across New York State. She also said that Emmis is honored they suggested this approach...

I didn't see the word "free" connected to the word "consulting" so I assume that Emmis will make a few bucks out of this deal. The sales training for NYSBA stations is priceless...
