Leaving the door wide-open...

Mel Karmazin has to be a fan of "The Sopranos" because much like Jack Chase, the Mel-man has left the door wide-open for a sequel, but this one won't be starring Tony Soprano...

When it was announced last week that Sirius and XM hired Quinn Gillespie & Associates LLC who will lobby on behalf of the merger, they got 2 key strategists for their cause in Jack Quinn, a former counsel to Bill Clinton and Ed Gillespie, a Republican Party strategist. These two represent the best of both worlds of the political spectrum. The decision on whether this merger flies will eventually come in December but let's look at the Karmazin quote on another subject, Don Imus: "I've had no conversation with Imus or his people since he left, but I would assume that one of the first phone calls he would make if he came back would be to satellite radio"...

This statement should come as no shock to anyone because Karmazin is a "big supporter" of Imus but if that's not an open invitation to come aboard, merger or not, what is???
