Graceland opens to the public...

23 years ago today, Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion in Memphis opens as a tourist attraction. One of the most visited homes in America, over 600,000 visitors pay homage to The King every year. The most famous home in the U.S. after the White House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. If you plan on attending the home Elvis used as a refuge for 20 years, we'd suggest bringing plenty of peanut butter and banana sandwiches to munch on while waiting on line (or is it "in line" in Memphis ???)...

The Stones get "Satisfaction"...

One of the most copied bass lines in the history of Rock & Roll was born on this day in 1965 when The Rolling Stones released "Satisfaction". If you were to choose the seminal Rolling Stones song it would be unarguably "Satisfaction". The group that "takes a licking but just keeps on ticking" made their mark with this 1965 chart topper. You probably wouldn't get an argument if you chose "Satisfaction" as one of the greatest Rock & Roll hits of all-time...
