Re-birth of a Nation...

If you thought the Red Sox were a defeated team when they were down 3 games to one you have a bad memory. They came back from a bigger hole in 2004 against the Yankees (3-0) and wound up winning the whole ball of wax that year and should they win this year's World Series, they will have a mini-dynasty, being the only team in this decade to repeat. Winning two of the last four is a mini-dynasty in this era. But first, there's one obstacle, the Colorado Rockies, making their first appearance in a World Series. All the Rockies did to get there was to become the first team in 71 years to enter the Fall Classic having won at least 19 of their last 20 games (they've won 21 of their last 22). The Cubs did it in 1935...

This is one of those senseless deaths that never should have happened. Max McGee, former Green Bay receiver who scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl history, was blowing leaves off of his Minnesota roof when he slipped and fell to his death. McGee was 75. He co-founded Chi-Chi's chain of Mexican restaurants following his football playing days. Former Packers teammate Paul Hornung says, "I just lost my best friend." "Happy Trails" to you Max McGee...
