The Phutile Phils...

Over the weekend the Philadelphia Phillies did something that no other sports franchise in history has ever done - they lost their 10,000th game. The Phillies with that loss became the losingest team in professional sports. Let's paint this moment in history with numbers:

Philadelphia was the city that once booed Santa Claus so it was only fitting that a fan watching loss No. 10,000 held this sign at Citizens Bank Park: "10,000 'N Proud". Although the Phillies have a shot at a Wild Card spot and are still within striking distance of the NL East leading Mets, they didn't help their cause last night. They lost game No. 10,001...

"Happy Trails" to former first lady, Lady Bird Johnson who passed away last Wednesday at 94. An active conservationist (remember her purple flowers along the highways?) Lady Bird stayed active long after her husband, former president Lyndon Johnson died in 1973. Lady Bird died of natural causes...
