When in doubt, don't assume - exhume...

Tom Carvel joins 'The Big Bopper' and Harry Houdini in an elite club of dearly departed whose remains will be exhumed to determine whether or not they were the victims of foul play. The ice cream man will resurface for an autopsy requested by niece, Pamela Carvel who believes the father of 'Fudgie the Whale' and 'Cookie Puss' may have been done in by a couple of veteran employees that were stealing more than ice cream. Carvel sold his company in 1989 and passed away on October 21, 1990. Although his death certificate said Carvel died from a heart attack, his niece thinks that he was either suffocated or drugged. We'll continue our story after a word from Carvel: http://youtube.com/watch?v=uzPiONed6Iw ...

In the case of the earlier autopsies, only 'The Big Bopper' has been dug up, Houdini's autopsy is pending and Pamela Carvel just requested exhumation of her uncle's body from a federal court. In all 3 instances, relatives of the diseased believed their loved ones may have been murdered. After digging up J. P. Richardson a.k.a. The Big Bopper, his body showed no gun shot wounds as was suspected by his son...

"Happy Trails" to author David Halberstam, 73, who was killed in a car crash yesterday when his car was broadsided, 25 miles south of San Francisco. Halberstam, a passenger in the car, was working on a book about the legendary 1958 NFL championship game between the Baltimore Colts and New York Giants at the time of his death. His book topics ranged from the Vietnam War, which he won a Pulitzer Prize for in 1964 to the sports world with books on the Red Sox of the 50's and Patriots coach Bill Belichick. His writing will be missed...Another passing to note yesterday was Boris Yeltsin's. Yeltsin died of heart failure at 76.
