Brady vs. Manning (Round 9) Winner Take All...

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have faced each other 8 times. Sunday's game between the Patriots and Colts makes it #9 since Brady became the Pats quarterback in 2001. Here are the records of the quarterbacks in those 8 meetings:

Regular Season: Brady: 4 wins, Manning: 2...Playoffs: Brady: 2 wins, Manning: 0...Edge: Brady...

Overall Post Season Record: Brady: 12-1, Manning: 5-6...Edge: Brady...

Superbowl wins: Brady: 3, Manning 0...Edge: Brady...

This is not to suggest that Peyton's team can't beat Brady's team but they haven't been able to so far in the playoffs. Peyton gets the edge in statistics every year during the regular season. Peyton Manning is one of the great regular-season quarterbacks of all time. Brady is the best playoff quarterback of his era with his 12-1 record. The Indianapolis Colts are 3 point favorites because the game will be played in their dome. Now let's look at the coaches regular season and post-season records...

Regular Season: Dungy: 114-62, Belichick: 111-81...Edge: Dungy...Post-Season: Belichick 12-2, Dungy: 6-8...Edge: Belichick...

Super Bowl Wins: Belichick: 3-0, Dungy: 0...

Okay now throw all those records aside for Sunday's game because it will come down to this quote by Tom Brady: "The team that's most prepared and goes out and executes the best this weekend will be the team that moves on (to the Super Bowl) and represents the conference"...

Oh, there is another game by the way. In the early game, the surprising New Orleans Saints travel up to frigid Chicago to take on the Bears for the right to represent the other (NFC) conference...
