Wanted: Hangman, no experience necessary...

The death sentence against Saddam Hussein is still under review by an appeals court. Should the nine-judge appeals bench uphold the death sentence, Hussein's execution must be carried out within 30 days. Officials believe the appeals process will be completed in a matter of weeks which would put the hanging between mid-January and mid-March...

An adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Kamal was quoted as saying, "one of the hardest tasks will be to determine who gets to be the hangman because so many people want revenge for the loss of their loved ones". This will be a public hanging by the way. The Iraqi people will want to see it. The world will want to see it too...

Commentary...

With reference to yesterday's timeline on Bill Haley & the Comets and their version of "See You Later Alligator", noted New England Country Music historian Gordon Brown adds that Bill Haley "was quite a yodeler and we have an album out of Australia with his groups from the late 1940's, before Rock & Roll". Although he was from Pennsylvania Haley spent much time in New England with the Down Homers, then the Range Drifters. Thanks for all that info Gordy. Good job...
