Perfection turns to footnote...

Okay, so nobody's perfect. The Patriots proved that last night. New England's bid for perfection ended as quickasthis in one of the most stunning of all Super Bowl upsets, 17-14. The New York Giants turned perfection into a footnote season for the Patriots who finish with an 18-1 record. The Miami Dolphins can rest easy. Their 17-0 record in 1972 remains untarnished. When Eli Manning found Plaxico Burress in the endzone wondering where Ellis Hobbs was, the corks started popping in Miami...

Maybe it was Bill Belichick switching from his ratty old grey hoodie to a new, bright red model. Maybe it was supermodel Gisele Bundchen being at the game, remember what happened to Tony Romo with Jessica Simpson watching him in Dallas? More likely it was the failure of the offensive line to protect Tom Brady. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. It doesn't matter. It's over. Too bad for the Patriots. Congratulations to the Giants...

The city of New York breaks an 8-year drought with the Giants winning the Super Bowl. For eight years, no championship banner flew over a stadium here until now. The Yankees of 2000 were the last professional sports team to win a championship. With a title comes a parade. That's tomorrow on Super Tuesday. Perfect or should I say super???
