Playing with num6ers...

If you are a student of numerology this will be right up your alley as we play with numbers. Our first set of numbers could deal with perfect eyesight but in this case it represents ABC-TV's attempt to come up with their answer to, tick...tick...tick..."60 Minutes", the king of all news magazine shows. "20/20" debuted on this date in 1978. Created by Roone Arledge, ABC would never get close to the CBS-TV kind of numbers that were generated by "60 Minutes". Wisely they never slotted the show up against the behemoth preferring instead to run "20/20" on various week nights. The news magazine does have decent numbers and when her maternity leave is over, Elizabeth Vargas, who will soon add another singing Cohn to the family, will return to join crotchety John Stossel as co-host of the show...

Our other set of numbers ? What else ? 666 which represents today's date. By the way, the only reason this is a big thing is because of 666 and the image of a certain dude who prefers the color red and comes equipped with a tail and pitchfork and no it's not Damien but his name does start with a "D". Triple digit dates come up every year with the exception of a year ending in zero so no big thing unless it's the triple 6. But okay, I'll play along with my Top 6 "Devil" hits. To qualify, each title must contain the word "devil", no witches or spells or anything else except "devil". With every part of my body that can be crossed, crossed, here's my list:

6) The Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band

5) Devil Woman - Cliff Richard (Marty Robbins also)

4) Sympathy For The Devil - Rolling Stones

3) Devil In Disguise - Elvis Presley

2) Devil With A Blue Dress On - Mitch Ryder

1) Devil Or Angel - The Clovers (original version) or Bobby Vee (they're both great)...
